The Faculty of Home Science at Shardabai Pawar Arts, Commerce and Science College, Baramati, established in 2007 under the Agricultural Development Trust, is dedicated to providing quality education with a strong emphasis on practical learning and skill development. Affiliated to Savitribai Phule Pune University, the faculty offers undergraduate and postgraduate programs in Food Science, Nutrition, Textile & Clothing, and Dietetics, aligned with modern academic and industry requirements.

History

The Faculty of Home Science was established in 2007 by initiative and interest of Hon. Sunanda Pawar, Secretory /Trustee, ADT Baramati, then member of Management Council of Savitribai Phule Pune University, Pune who also played pivotal role as Chairman of Ad hoc board of Studies in Home Science established first time in SPPU. Since its inception, the faculty has shown consistent academic growth and has contributed significantly to student enrichment through various curricular and co-curricular activities. It has played a vital role in implementing interdisciplinary and application-oriented education in line with modern educational frameworks such as NEP 2020. The faculty holds the distinction of being the only institution affiliated with Savitribai Phule Pune University offering a B.Sc. degree in Home Science. Over the years, it has strengthened its academic structure by offering specializations in Food Science & Nutrition and Textile & Clothing, while also building strong industry linkages, research exposure, and career-oriented training for students.
