Chairman’s Message

Empowering Rural India through Education, Agriculture and Innovation

At the Agricultural Development Trust, Baramati, our journey began with a simple yet profound vision — to empower farmers, uplift rural communities, and build a sustainable future through agriculture, education, and innovation. Rooted in the values laid down by Hon. Sharadchandraji Pawar and Dr. Appasaheb Pawar, we continue to nurture the dream of transforming lives across drought-prone regions through water conservation, scientific farming practices, and inclusive development.

Over the years, the Trust has expanded its horizons — from constructing percolation tanks and introducing mechanized farming to establishing one of India’s most respected women’s education campuses. We believe that education is the foundation of true empowerment, and our institutions reflect our commitment to excellence and equity.

Today, with rapidly evolving global challenges in agriculture, climate and livelihoods, we are committed to embracing cutting-edge technologies, forging international collaborations, and fostering entrepreneurship, particularly among women and youth. Through initiatives like KVK, women empowerment programmes, FarmVibes.AI and agri-business development, we aim to be a beacon of rural transformation.

As Chairman, I am proud of the Trust’s legacy and inspired by its future. Together with our dedicated team, we remain focused on building a self-reliant, skilled and prosperous rural India.

Secretary’s Message

A Living Memorial of Commitment to Rural Women’s Education

The Agricultural Development Trust was founded in 1971 with a strong vision of agricultural development and women’s education. Inspired by Hon. Sharad Pawar and his colleagues, the Trust has consistently focused on empowering rural communities through education and extension activities.

The Shardanagar campus, named after late Smt. Shardabai Pawar, was established to promote women’s education in rural areas. With the vision of Dr. Appasaheb Pawar, a residential educational complex for girls was started, addressing the challenges of safety and accessibility in villages.

Today, the campus educates around 15,000 girls across various disciplines. The Trust has expanded into multiple fields including environment, food processing, agriculture innovation, Self Help Groups, and cultural initiatives like Srujan and Bhimthadi Jatra.

The Trust has become a unique institution supporting development from agriculture to education and entrepreneurship. Our focus remains on holistic growth, skill development, and creating responsible citizens.

We remain committed to women empowerment and will continue striving until our vision of complete empowerment is achieved.
